About the Team

Our entire platform is built in Rust, connecting Solana’s L1 with advanced L2 extensions and enabling deeply complex network interactions. Your primary focus in this role will involve Rust systems programming, infrastructure architecture (e.g., Kubernetes), and operational scripting across languages such as Rust, Go, and Typescript. Full-stack understanding — from bare metal to application interfaces — is critical to success here.

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, preferably within high-standard fintech, data, cloud, or DevOps environments.
• Senior-level experience as an SRE or Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Kubernetes background.
• Deep proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform/Terragrunt) and infrastructure automation (Helm, GitOps).
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting using Prometheus and PromQL.
• Experience with infrastructure and data security practices, including KMS and HashiCorp Vault.
• Ability to ship high-quality, opinionated architectural choices and uphold software best practices.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Senior Backend Engineer to help us build the next generation of decentralised trading protocols. As a dedicated backend engineer, you will gain ownership of our existing backend services and influence the creation, design, and execution of future features and products. You will work on technically challenging aspects of our off-chain services and our developer-facing APIs and help ensure the delivery of reliable and performant features to improve CoW Protocol.

What you will do

• While your focus will be writing concurrent backend systems in Rust, you will also interact with our Smart Contracts written in Solidity and develop your understanding of auction mechanisms and DeFi protocols
• Participate in our on-call rotation to help ensure the reliability of our production systems (on-call work is additionally compensated)
• Work closely with researchers and the product team to ship features and come up with new solutions for challenging technical problems
• Deliver high-quality code for features from concept until production (including state-of-the-art monitoring of our production systems)

• You have 5+ years of production experience with systems-level programming languages, with at least 1+ year of hands-on production experience using Rust
• You have practical experience working in web3 (ideally in DeFi and the Ethereum ecosystem)

• Experience with operating, maintaining, and architecting complex software systems
• You care deeply about the quality, readability, observability, and testability of your code
• You proactively give technical direction to improve performance, prevent issues, optimise data usage, and refactor the codebase

 Minimum Qualification

Bachelors with 5+ years of working experience as Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) / Devops Engineer Experience with programming. Preferably Python, or Go. Knowledge of Linux internals and bash scripting. Strong skills around observability, debugging and performance tuning, willing to dive into understanding, debugging, and improving any layer of the stack. Strong experience in managing infrastructure with cloud providers like AWS. Experience in container orchestration systems like kubernetes.  Strong experience in Observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana etc Experience in standards devops tools for infrastructure management (terraform/opentofu etc), CI/CD (ArgoCD, Jenkins etc)

Preferred Qualification

Expertise in automation tools like Ansible, Terraform. Expertise in devops tooling like Jenkins, ArgoCD, github actions Expertise in advanced observability (USE-RED signals, Tracing, front end observability etc) and monitoring stacks, preferably Grafana stack.  Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
