The role

The Nethermind team is seeking a experience Software engineer with a background in confidential computing. We offer a unique opportunity to work on a variety of diverse projects where strong experience, knowledge and understanding of secure computing platforms is a must. The candidate will be working cross-functionally across the company partnering with our product teams to implement solutions in secure environments in a broad array of applications of use cases from AI through to Finance. Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with engineers across the company on all stages of projects, through design, implementation and testing.
• Partnering with teams across the company from Product through to Engineering to apply your skills to solutions integrating confidential computing.
• Contribute to product documentation.
• Maintain, test and release new and existing confidential compute infrastructure.

Skills:

• Experienced shipping new products all the way through the product stack.
• Proficiency with developing in C++.
• Experience with Rust or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Trusted Execution Environments (e.g. SGX, TDX, TrustZone, NVIDIA Confidential Compute).
• Familiarity with web protocols (HTTP, QUIC).
• Understanding of the CI/CD developer pipeline and tools (Github, VSCode, Linux).

Nice to have:

• Understanding of distributed consensus algorithms and cryptography concepts (e.g. Zero-Knowledge).

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Smart Contract Auditor / On-Chain Engineer to join our fast-growing team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for auditing and securing smart contracts, modeling edge cases and hack scenarios, as well as developing and maintaining on-chain infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with our blockchain developers and product teams to ensure the integrity and security of our smart contracts deployed across various decentralized platforms.

A key part of your role will be conducting in-depth research on emerging protocols and staying up to date with the latest trends, vulnerabilities, and innovations in the DeFi and blockchain space. This will help you ensure that our smart contracts are not only secure but also take full advantage of new, best-in-class protocol features.

Additionally, a solid understanding of on-chain execution, including optimizing transaction flows, is essential for this role. Experience with writing trading bots that interact with on-chain protocols or decentralized exchanges would also be highly beneficial.

• Research Emerging Protocols: Analyze new blockchain protocols, reviewing their documentation, audits, and smart contracts to identify risks and recommend improvements for integration.

Requirements & Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in smart contract auditing and on-chain development.
• Strong proficiency in Solidity and in-depth understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and gas optimization.
• Familiarity with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and platforms (e.g., Uniswap, Aave, Compound, Pendle).
• Deep knowledge of smart contract security best practices, including common vulnerabilities
• Knowledge of consensus mechanisms used in PoS systems (staking, restacking, slashing , etc …).
• Experience with on-chain execution, including transaction optimization, gas management, and effective interaction with DeFi protocols.
• Ability to provide clear technical documentation and communicate security findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent in English (wriYen and spoken), with the ability to communicate effectively in a distributed team.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with other blockchain platforms such as Solana, Cosmos, or
