Job Description

This role is focused on securing the broader ZetaChain ecosystem by working hands-on with independent third-party developer teams — from early-stage grant recipients to established partners — to help them build and maintain secure blockchain applications. These teams are critical to our ecosystem’s growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in product security, TypeScript/JavaScript/React programming, and Web3 development, along with deep knowledge of wallet security, dApp threat modeling, and account abstraction (EIP-4337). You should be comfortable acting as both a technical expert and a trusted partner to external teams.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with external ecosystem developers to advise on smart contract, dApp, and wallet security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify high-risk code changes in both React/TypeScript frontends and smart contracts, participating in security-focused code reviews
• Develop and implement innovative security testing methodologies specific to blockchain and DeFi environments
• Analyze new and emerging dApp and wallet attack vectors (phishing, session hijacking, malicious npm packages, RPC manipulation) and assess their potential impact on the ZetaChain ecosystem
• Lead or coordinate security audits and penetration tests for ecosystem projects, and drive timely remediation of findings
• Contribute to and help manage the bug bounty programs by validating and triaging reported vulnerabilities
• Create and maintain security guidelines, best practices, and documentation tailored for ecosystem developers

Requirements

• Location:
  • Hybrid in San Francisco is preferred (2-3 days a week)
  • Open to fully remote for exceptional candidates that align with US Timezones
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on blockchain and Web3 technologies
• 2+ years of software development experience working with smart contracts (Ideally Solidity)
• Experience with security tools and techniques specific to blockchain environments
• Deep familiarity with common attack vectors in Web3, such as flash loan attacks, reentrancy, and oracle manipulation
• Strong understanding of Wallet security (EIP-712, SIWE etc), account abstraction (EIP-4337), smart contract vulnerabilities and DeFi-specific risks
• Familiarity with tools and frameworks like Foundry, Slither, Tenderly, Wagmi, viem, RainbowKit
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ethereum, Ton, Solana, SUI, and other major blockchain protocols
• Previous experience auditing code (Solidity, React, Typescript, Rust, Func, etc)
• Contributions to open-source blockchain security tools or research
• Active participation in bug bounty programs or capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions
• Experience implementing and managing automated security testing pipelines
• Familiarity with formal verification techniques for smart contracts
• Understanding of zero-knowledge proofs and their blockchain applications

In-Office Culture

This is a remote position but we will prioritize applicants based in the Bay Area. Many members of our team work hybrid from our San Francisco office, and we aim for 2 to 3 in-office days per week. We know life happens, whether it’s travel, appointments, or family needs and we’re flexible when the schedule needs to shift. The company is a mix of fully remote and hybrid team members.

Compensation

Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 (San Francisco benchmark)

In addition to the base salary, all full-time team members receive an additional 10% to 25% in liquid benefits with upside based on role, experience, and impact. About Aztec At Aztec, our goal is to add privacy to Ethereum. In the current public blockchain paradigm, users and entities unknowingly broadcast data in the public, compromising privacy and security to get trustlessness. Not only are unencrypted blockchains inherently privacy-exposing, they require significant redundancy to compute and verify the legitimacy of transactions. Implementing scalable encryption in a public blockchain paradigm requires cutting-edge math and engineering. Craft accurate and engaging technical documentation for the Aztec tech stack (SDK, APIs, infrastructure, zk-SNARK circuits) that supports developers building on our platform. Write technical blog posts, guides, tutorials, and partner content that bridges engineering depth with marketing clarity. Collaborate with engineering and developer relations teams to create onboarding materials, FAQs, and integration guides that help developers get started and go deep. Support go-to-market efforts by contributing technical content for announcements, partner integrations, and product launches. Own and evolve Aztec’s technical content standards, ensuring consistency, clarity, and approachability across all developer-facing materials. Collect and synthesize developer feedback, identify documentation gaps, and proactively fill them with targeted content. Partner with the marketing team to ensure technical accuracy in messaging and campaigns while maintaining brand alignment. Be a champion for external developers inside Aztec—advocating for their needs and helping the team communicate with them effectively.

About you:

4–6+ years of total experience, including 3+ years as a technical writer, developer advocate, or similar role at a technology-focused company. Deep familiarity with software engineering concepts; bonus points if you’re a self-taught or former developer. Demonstrated experience writing for both developer and non-developer audiences. Experience working with Ethereum or similar blockchain ecosystems is strongly preferred. Exceptional communication skills—you can explain deeply technical ideas clearly and concisely, adapting your voice and level of detail to the audience. You thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and take initiative to identify and solve problems. Passionate about zero-knowledge cryptography, blockchain, and the broader crypto space.

Bonus points for:

Prior experience working at a developer-focused company or managing developer community content. Experience writing video or presentation scripts for dev-focused events or product demos. Fluency in additional languages (Spanish, French, Hindi, Mandarin).

This role is within the the Vac Incubator Project “Nescience”, which is developing a state separation architecture with selective privacy.

The role

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining our Rust code base, transforming research prototypes into production and collaborating with researchers, prototyping ideas, measuring performance, and conducting code reviews, and shaping engineering culture.

Your responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and shipping end-to-end functionality in monthly release sprints. As well as profiling bottlenecks, hardening cryptographic components, and writing property-based tests.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with modern cryptography, familiar with zero-knowledge virtual machines (zkVMs) and experienced with blockchain or other peer-to-peer systems, and motivated by decentralisation and privacy.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain Rust code base.
• Develop new solutions based on research output.
• If necessary, participate in research.

You ideally will have

• 4-5 Years of Rust experience.
• Experience writing asynchronous code in Rust using Tokio.
• Solid understanding of cryptography.
• Understanding, how zkVM’s work.

Nomos requires a specialized role to bring in-depth knowledge and experience with ZK proofs and related tools and frameworks. This expertise will facilitate expedited prototyping, research, design of the proving system, and help in developing ZK-friendly solutions for the requirements of multiple components of the Nomos blockchain. The constant flux of tasks, varying in size and scope, requires a team member who can seamlessly integrate into the team and contribute immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the multi-layered architecture of Nomos and how Zero Knowledge proofs can be effectively utilized at various stages.
• Collaborate with other researchers and developers to ensure that Nomos’s systems and protocols are efficiently designed and implemented.
• Address and solve upgradeability concerns related to ZK schemes and ensure consensus proofs are ZK-friendly.
• Design and help implement privacy-centered protocols that require the use of ZK proofs.
• Evaluate and integrate ZK tools and frameworks to optimize the performance and efficiency of our systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the field of Zero Knowledge proofs and blockchain technology.
• Provide support and guidance to the team on ZK proofs related issues.

You ideally will have

• A strong technical background, preferably with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (PhD-level or equivalent in industry); relevant research experience.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Zero Knowledge proofs, cryptography, and blockchain technology.
• Deep understanding of Zero-Knowledge proof systems (zk-SNARK, circom, Plonk/Halo2, zk-STARK), elliptic curve cryptography, and circuit design.
• Previous experience in a similar role, where you successfully contributed to the development of complex systems using ZK proofs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• A passion for the blockchain technology and a desire to push the boundaries of what is currently possible.
• Knowledge of current ZK tools and frameworks, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
