We’re looking for a Back-end Engineer at Kiln. We are maintaining about 26 protocols.

1) Building the product: You’ll be working closely with the Product and Infrastructure teams to plan, architect, and implement our core product. You’ll take part in the construction of the roadmap with the rest of the team. In this role, it includes:

• Development of data aggregators for blockchains

• Development of new Golang microservices within the Kiln stack

• Taking part in automation & deployment processes

• Framework development

2) Owning what you build: As you architect, test, and refine the Kiln platform, you will ensure that our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly (daytime, no on-calls)

3) Helping grow the Team: Everyone on the early team plays an important role in attracting, closing, and growing other talented team members. You can also mentor or brainstorm with other backend developers.

Our stack

• Mostly in Golang with a bit of JavaScript and TypeScript

• Communication between services is done using HTTP Rest, and most of our databases are backed by PostgreSQL

• Everything runs in Kubernetes on GCP

Skills & background

• Strong communication skills both in French & English to facilitate the design of scalable architectures with SREs

  • French can be a "nice to have" if you have several professional web3 experiences

• Golang (over 1 year of experience)

• Over 4 years of experience designing, building, and deploying user-facing, infrastructure-related, and/or API-based products (Python, PHP...)

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of experience in Software Engineering experience with a focus on testing. Pay/Tokens:

• Salary Range $100,000-$120,000 USD annually

Role

• Setup, maintain and monitor fleets of blockchain nodes for Nirvana’s global customer base.
• Build and maintain scaleable and flexible automations for running blockchain nodes and internal monitoring services.
• Set and maintain the best-in-class infrastructure practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals and client needs.

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• In a time zone between PT to ET (UTC-8 to UTC-5)
• Proficient in scripting (i.e. Bash) and automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef)
• 4+ years of proven experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
• Experience managing and optimizing bare-metal servers.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in creating and maintaining blockchain RPC nodes (e.g. Ethereum, Arbitrum, Solana etc.)
• Knowledgeable in deploying services reliably using tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI, or Jenkins.
• Proficient with monitoring and logging tools (e.g, Prometheus, Grafana etc).
• Experience with Git-based systems for code and configuration management.
• Knowledge of various blockchain protocols and standards.
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices relevant to blockchain and distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in creating automation tasks and internal tooling using Golang.
• Active contributions to relevant open source blockchain projects.
• Certifications for cloud providers, Kubernetes, or security certifications.
