About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior+ Fullstack Engineer (Backend-Leaning) to join our team. Our engineers tackle complex challenges at the core of trading infrastructure and user experience. At Ares, engineering defines the culture, pace, and quality of everything we build — pushing the limits of what’s possible in crypto-native systems.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with the CEO and have transparency into other aspects of the company
• Architect important systems and anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning
• Design and implement infrastructure across the full stack — from high-performance frontends (Next.js + Tailwind) to backend systems (NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Solana RPCs)
• Build transactional engines that optimize for execution speed, accuracy, and UX under volatile, memecoin-driven conditions
• Drive the architecture of our real-time trading intelligence layer, fusing onchain and offchain signals into actionable interfaces
• Build integrations with external services (Telegram, bots, alerting engines) to power novel product experiences
• Ship fast and often — we deploy product daily and treat working code as the ultimate source of truth
• Collaborate directly with founders and senior engineers in a high-bandwidth, fast feedback loop
• Engage with early users — from CT influencers to alpha groups — and shape features around real workflows
• Take ownership over what you build, with freedom to make autonomous decisions and move without bureaucracy

About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Grove Labs, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of the next generation of onchain DeFi experiences. You’ll be in charge of shipping a suite of products that can scale to millions of users on top of infrastructure that is safely and efficiently processing transactions worth billions in underlying value. You will join a small but ambitious team with a wide range of responsibilities who are working to solve some of DeFi and TradFi’s most challenging problems. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing new primitives for DeFi in partnership with the largest and most sophisticated capital allocators in the world, to truly scale DeFi globally.

What You’ll Do

• Designing and developing new user-facing onchain experiences that push the frontier of tokenized assets, DeFi, and institutional adoption of crypto.
• Deploying modern, full-stack web applications following best practices to ensure compliance, security, and availability across multiple geographies and networks.
• Take a leadership role in defining and driving architectural decisions, ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Defining procedures around managing deployments, handling technical debt, and driving continuous improvement so that we can ship with quality and speed.
• Contributing in an open source manner to projects that aim to drive transparency and composability via on-chain systems, data, and and services (e.g. dashboards) Working closely with solidity engineers to integrated systems and API endpoints that enable modularity and composability for our platforms. that expose blockchain functionality to front-end applications and external stakeholders.
• Implementing monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high uptime and low-latency experiences.
• Implementing Large Language Model-enabled experiences like chat interfaces or agentic frameworks.
• Building CI/CD pipelines that leverage leading cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and industry standard tools.
• Collaborate with design teams to build responsive, modern web applications that delights users and excites industry partners.
• Iterate rapidly with stakeholders to solve problems within DeFi and TradFiGuide junior and mid-level engineers, perform code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
• Champion engineering excellence and agile processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in TypeScript, React, NextJS, Tailwind, and TanStack Query (e.g. T3 stack) as well as Python and SQL.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in developing decentralized applications, ideally with another
• DeFi Protocol with a large user base. Ideally strong familiarity with web3 programming and using EVM-based tooling like, Foundry, Tenderly, etc.
• Expertise in Node.js, Python, Go, or similar on the backend, with a proven track record of building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience deploying applications across multiple regions using cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, VPC networking, telemetry and monitoring.
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (Argo CD).
• Basic to intermediate familiarity with smart contracts, Ethereum, EVM-based chains, or other relevant blockchain technologies.
• Proven expertise in relational database management using PostgreSQL, including designing robust data schemas, optimizing SQL queries, and constructing scalable data pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, focused on implementing robust encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
• Practical experience with various DeFi protocols (e.g., lending, derivatives, AMMs, stablecoins) and an ability to design and implement complex financial logic on-chain.
• Knowledge of tokenization platforms, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155).
• Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong emphasis on understanding the “why” behind requirements and commitment defining the “minimum scope”.
