⚠️ Minimum requirements
- Proven ability to deliver open source applications that deal with blockchain, cryptography, smart contracts, decentralized systems, or any related technology in the web3 ecosystem
- 4+ years experience in one or more general purpose programming languages such as JS/TS
- Knowledge about the internals of JavaScript engines, browsers, and how to work with React.js
- Experience with well-known JavaScript frameworks (particularly Next.js)
- Knowledge of basic design principles, including layouts, aesthetics, and how to work with a UX team and with a design system

Qualifications

Role focus:
We're looking for entrepreneurial thinkers that are interested in tackling new problems working across the entire codebase to:
- Understand the full system architecture end to end
- Prioritize and document technical debt and unnecessary complexity within the system
- Implement solutions and improvements for key stakeholders
- Refactor code, improving readability, documentation, maintainability and unit testing
- Influence and enhance current engineering bar
- Ensure we're using the most up-to-date tooling and development workflows for maximum developer efficiency
In particular, some of the tasks you could be working on include:
- Improving the developer experience of writing Noir through extending its LSP (among other tools).
- Improving the testing framework for Noir programs and performing exploratory work on testing smart contracts written in Noir.
- Implementing new language features
- Extending the Javascript tooling for working with Noir and identifying bottlenecks for proving in the browser.
- Implementing optimized cryptographic primitives in Noir
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field
- 3+ years solid engineering experience (ideally in a web3/blockchain setting)
- Fluent in Rust/Typescript (3+ years experience)
- Previous compiler experience (very desirable but not required)
- Able to provide clear and constructive feedback on less senior engineers’ PR’s, mentoring where necessary
Nice-to-have experience:
- Located in the UK or can operate in Greenwich Mean Time Zone
- Familiarity with other ZK languages and associated tooling (for inspiration)
- Familiarity with current Ethereum tooling (for inspiration)
- Passion for the web3 space
